2013 ANNUAL PINEBARREN TRIP 5/17-19th

Can't believe this trip is just around the corner!!! Can't wait! Always a fun time!

U guys will finally get to see the new jeep in person.. woo hoo!! its gonna look like a baby next to every other jeep on the trip..

I'm still Rig-Less, but, working on it.

Is there a loose itinerary yet?

Friday: Check in set-up day. Check in is not until 3 pm. Sam and I will plan to be there by 3, but I know some folks are working and will not arrive until later. If you will arrive after 5 - please make sure to call the campground office to let them know so you can make plans to pick up your camping pass. Friday, we usually take a trip to Wal-Mart to get supplies if needed and then just eat and relax.

Saturday - Planning to do some light wheeling over to Basto Village. We can then visit the village and do some light wheeling back to the campground. There is also a lake near the campground which offers swimming and canoeing but it may be too cold for swimming. We can play that part by ear.

Sunday- I am looking for a nearby church. Some folks do need to leave early on Sunday so we will see who is able to attend.

Hoperfully, this sounds good for now, but if you have any thoughts or suggestions we are open!

Mudslinger, that is a great plan but I'm adding a whole lotta relaxing, board games, and marshmellow roasting to that agenda!

Dennis, if i want to convoy up with you what time should i meet you at your house? im looking forward to the trip.

Friday I'm not leaving Baltimore until 5.

Is anyone thinking of bringing instruments, like guitars or something?
I don't play myself but it's cool to listen to when camping.

Sunday I'm all in for worshiping with you guys. If we don't find a church I'm willing to put something completely informal together. I'm no Dr of theology so don't be too afraid. I don't sing well or play an instrument but if someone else wanted to lead a couple songs that would be great.

I do short Bible studies for myself. If anyone wants to join with me on Saturday the invitation is open. We would just read a scripture and discuss it. About 15 mins I guess, we'll then let anyone ask any question about any scripture they want. That's it.

No worries- just make sure to call the campground and tell them you will be arriving late. Usually, you check in and they give you the pass for your site. I am not sure what they do for late check-ins. You probably have the phone number for the campground but just in case the number for the Atsion Office is (609) 268-0444.

Sadly, I dont' think any of us play instruments (at least that I am aware).

I think your idea about a short 15 min study is great and I am in. I was thinking it would be nice to do after Saturday dinner (before we start the games, etc). Thanks for doing that for us!

I have my feelers out for a few churches so I will keep you guys posted.

We are planning to leave our house at 9:30 a.m. Check in time is noon so we want to get there, set-up and get some supplies from Wal-Mart. Just let me know if you are going up with us or separate.

We had a BLAST that one time with the pastor and youth minister of that one church CROSSROADS COMMUNITY CHURCH. they now have an actual place of worship rather than that high school if I heard right. I think it would be great to go!! I wish we were there!!! The young ministry leader's name was Josiah. Great kid. The pastor was awesome too...was it Jim?

Thanks Pattey.....that was it Crossroads!!!! Pastor Jim was awesome and it was a great atmosphere...small but the people were wonderful. Looking at the map they are about 5 mins from the camping site. I am going to send them an e-mail. Love you!

Good news everyone! I heard back from Bill Ashe at Crossroads Church. They are very excited to have us as guests and are looking forward to our visit. They are even planning to give us some time to introduce our club and what we are about! So plan on wearing your club t-shirts!

There are two services: One at 9 a.m. and one at 10:30 a.m. I am thinking that we should plan to go to the 9 a.m. service as check out time at the campground is Noon. The service lasts just about an hour so it will give us time to get back to the site and take down our equipment. The church is only about 5 mins away so it is a perfect location.

mudslinger i will be up at your house at 930 to leave with you.

I called the number Mudslinger posted up. Was told the station is open 0900-1600 7 days a week, and if we show up after 4PM just to go to the campsite and check in on Saturday sometime when the office is open. In our case we'll have to pay an extra $5 per night for our dog (plus bring a copy of the rabies vaccination certificate). We're planning on leaving Bel Air around 1 PM, may make it in by 4 PM if traffic cooperates.

Thank you - we would love to have you join us. The trip was fantastic. It was great to stop, slow down and spend time with each other. Fellowship on this trip was amazing and the Crossroads Community Church made us feel so welcome on Sunday.
