| Some friends have given me ideas for projects for the summer that im actually going to do. First, I found that the solid axle project is a no-go due to the street-legality of it all. Aint gonna happen. But... Got some other cool projects lined up. Heres the List: 1. New Sliders from Rocky Road 2. New steel roof rails (to mount CB antenna and move hi-lift mount) 3. New Muffler and K&N Air intake, 4. New custom front bumper and winch, 5. New CB Setup Possibly: wheel spacers or new rims.. maybe. AND COOLEST OF ALL: I found a way to make my front doors quick removal like a Wrangler for summertime cruising and beach trips!! The Door-lessness: The Bumper: More Details to come as it progresses!!! | |

| Nice. do the doors have at least a 6" lip to the floor like a Wrangler or are they flush. You "could" have issues with the "legality" of the doors being off if it is flush. It would have to be a bored cop but I had it questioned once with my Wrangler...
Not trying to discourage you, just asking the question.

Not trying to discourage you, just asking the question. Ha, don’t know about MD, but in PA driving w/o doors is totally illegal! I got pulled over, looked it up every way I could, even wrote two of our senators. They wrote back… it’s illegal : ( They were even republicans! Now, they did say, “at this time”. Maybe we should start a petition?!!

| A bunch of good stuff to do. I like the bumper design, but you might want to add one thing - a slot on each side in the front of the bumper to use as a point for a hi-lift. I had that on my old Xterra, and it came in useful a number of times.

| AHH yes!! definitely will do that, but my new sliders are strong enough to be a jack point too. but i will definitely keep that in mind! | |

| You can never have too many jacking points. And I used the front more than the sliders when I had to jack the front. I've seen too many trucks fall off the hi-lift when the sliders are used, causing the hi-lift to smash into a door.

| Sometimes you need to lift the front end to get yourself unstuck, and raising one side won't do it....so a front and rear high lift point is useful. Same with cut outs to reach winch controls, or other accessories you might want down the road, like lights. Making the cut-outs/holes now, will also force you think about if the bars give enough clearance for those things you might want to fit down the road, and so forth. | |

| Well..... Two parts of the on-going summer project were completed over spring break!! First, Got an awesome new CB set up (heres the antenna) Second, I installed new full steel roof rails from Rocky Road Outfitters, and moved the hi-lift jack. Hopefully as summer progresses I will get the last bits installed!! goal is custom bumper with winch, rockrails, 1.5" spacers, light upgrades/additional lights and possibly new air intake and muffler. | |
