Please pray for my nephew

Our nephew Bill was admited to a hospital in Fairfax, VA for emergency surgery for an aneurism today. Apparently the surgeons were not able to stop the bleeding and they had to stop the surgery. So Bill is in critical condition. We have not heard any updates since, I think his mother is at the hospital. Please pray for Bill.

Update. Bill had an aortic aneurism. He was is surgery for 9 hours, and then went in later for 3 more hours. Last we heard he was taken off the ventilator he was on following surgery, apparently breathing on his own. He is in a lot of pain since they had to break his sternum and ribs to do surgery. We still don't know if he has had any brain damage due to blood loss. Will provide updates as we find out more.

On the plus side, the heart-lung machines they use during open heart surgery do a very good job. On the negative side, he will need help for a while to recover from the opening of the sternum that is needed for the surgery. In my case, it was a good two weeks until I could just do basic daily tasks like getting out of bed by myself (a week and half post surgery), walking down my driveway and to the corner of my block (over two weeks), picking up a gallon jug of water (two weeks), etc. It was much longer until I could walk around the block, drive, etc. He will need your physical and emotional support for a while. If they offer a cardiac rehabilitation program, I high recommend it.
