If it is not too much trouble to get the stove it might not be a bad idea. It looks like the burn ban may have been lifted for now...but who knows we still have several weeks to go.

I have a small propane stove (double burner) so we could always bring that if you can't get the other stove.

If the burn ban is not in effect, I will plan on bringing a charcoal grill.

Also, does anyone have access to some firewood? If not, I can get some.

We cannot wait for this! Very Happy

that works for me, and fine...i just thought we could do something like cut the back of your ride in three places, attach hinges and waterproofing material in certain places, and then we could fold that flat on the roof when we want.

Depending on work schedule, going to try to leave here by 12 noon. Takes about 2 1/2 hours to get there. It is probably just as easy to meet out our house, so we can just hit 95 and keep going.

I will be trailing the jeep, so I will have room in the truck for firewood, etc.

PostSubject: Re: ANNUAL PINEBARREN TRIP 2012   ANNUAL PINEBARREN TRIP 2012 - Page 2 EmptyWed May 02, 2012 8:30 am

Usually Sam and I will get the majority of our food when we get to the Pinebarrens, there is supermarket and a Walmart about 15-20 mins away. You will want to have some snack type items for the trails. We usally wind up cooking hot dogs, hamburgers for dinner one night, maybe chicken or something the next night. In the mornings, we usually grill up eggs, bacon, etc. I usually bring coffee bags for coffee in the morning (and cream/sugar). For lunch, people usually have some sort of sandwich. Sam usually brings peanut butter and jelly along. I will plan to bring a charcoal grill if the burn ban is lifted (which right now it appears to be). The main important items are the firewood, grill and campstove. I have a two burner camp stove if you cannot get yours.

Friday will mostly be a set-up day/relax day. When we arrive, we will check in and then set-up the campsite. After we set-up we can go to the grocery store and get supplies/ice/etc. I would suggest (if you don't do this already) that you plan on placing a tarp on the ground under your tent. It helps keep the dampness down.

Saturday, we will plan to spend at least 1/2 of the day on the trails. You will want to have lunch/snack type items and drinks with you (so make sure you have a cooler that you can take along). After the trails -we may wander over to Batsto Village for some sight seeing. There is also a lake nearby and I believe there are canoe rentals, etc., so depending on weather we may try to do something like that. You may want to have swim shorts or something if you plan on getting in the lake. Make sure you don't mind them being ruined. The lake water is a brown color because of the tannins from all of the oak trees around the lake.

Saturday night we usually hang out at the campsite. We will bring a couple of games (Apples to Apples, etc). So if anyone has other games like that feel free to bring along. Last year someone brought minute to win-it and that was fun.

Sunday, we usually hang out in the morning (if it is nice) and the break camp and head home. We have to check out by 11 a.m. so we are usually home in the early afternoon.

It should be a great time-this is always one of our favorite trips yeah

ok so all i needto bring really is my snacks and stuff and stuff to drink like ice tea etc, then we can buy the rest of the stuff at the supermarket.

Sounds good.

Are you cooking breakfast for all or is that something else we need to provide for ourselves.

And i will know by next wednesday if i can have the stove and also if i need help loading firewood.

Looking forward to it!!!!!!
