Fluid ID Question.. Empty
PostSubject: Fluid ID Question..   Fluid ID Question.. EmptyMon Apr 02, 2012 10:19 am

Hey guys.. got a question.

I have a leak somewhere in my front end and its putting out a fluid i need help iding.

The fluid is pretty much clear/slightly grayish but was black from rausch creek. It was dripping off my front axle and appeared to be blowing back towards oil pan and tranny after driving.. i looked far up into the engine and didnt see any leaks up there, so im wondering if its coming from my diff.

Details on fluid: Slight gray/clear color, slick greasy/almost slimy texture and when first smelled a bit of minty smell then the aroma of hydraulic oil.. any ideas as to what it is????

I'd say just check/change all your lubes...as none of them should look like that.

check all fluid levels and the one that is low is where it came from. if you think it is your diff check the level there. even ifs diffs have a fill hole and should be filled to the bottom of said hole. stick your finger in the hole and bend it down. if you don't touch any fluid it is probably low.

That's TWO votes to check all the fluids.
