Got a $55 quote on Hotels.com, but its non-refundable. Is this trip a definite go?

I do recall being told that the rate was cheaper if you went with the non-refundable alternative. Barring any unforseen emergencies, we are planning on being there.

OK. So I tried to book the hotel, and they declined the charge. Called the bank and they have blocked the card because they said it had been compromised. Bad way to find out, but glad to know the bank is on top of things. They are going to overnight a new card, so I'll have to wait until Friday to book the room.

For those going Sat, what time and where are we going to meet? HaHa - if we want to convoy part way we could meet Halfway... Halfway MD that is, as we'll be goin thru there!!

......it'll take us 2 hours to get there from this area. It'll take you guys about an hour and a half to go from Spring Grove to Halfway. We could meet you somewhere at the interchange @ I-70 and I-81. I guess it'd be around 8am. Then it's just another half hour, 40 minutes to the hotel (where we're stopping/meeting in the morning. Check in is at 3pm though)

Then we'll head on our merry way.


Mike and Tina....are you guys leaving our area with us @ 6am? We'll have to meet up somewhere closeby.

Mike and Tina.....I forgot we go down Route 1 (Whitemarsh and PerryHall). Wanna meet near the intersection of Rt-1 and Mountain Rd? (near the Fallston diner)

we live right next to 95 our best bet would just jump on 95 and go down that way and hit 695 around to 70 so we could me somewhere along that route...

Yeah, there's a few places. Cool. We could always just meet at the Park and Ride @ 95 and Mountain Rd.....skipping our way on 1.

We gonna be doing any cooking out? There’s a grocery store in town whether we’re cooking or just doing sandwiches.

As far as food, I was planning to bring a cooler with stuff for sandwiches during the day at Greenridge. As far as dinner goes I am open for suggestions!

I think lugging a grill would stink. I figured we could find a place that made sammiches and have a little picnic on the trail. We'll have to find a place for dinner near the hotel...or somewhere close. I'm bringing a board game (Apples to Apples! If you know what it is, you're probably psyched right now! hahahaaaa) for when we hang out back at the hotel.

While none of the campsites have potties, they all have fire rings and we gotta ho-dingy that sits over it, but sammi’s are fine and less work/cleanup. I added one local restaurant to the map.

Apples to Apples is fun – I’ll bring Frisbees, ladder ball, etc.

I just got a kick outa the fact we were driving past Halfway, halfway to our way there – couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make a joke.

We really wanted to come up there, but there are just too many issues going on here for me to really enjoy the trip. I need to stay home this weekend. Sorry. We'll miss seeing you guys.
