Short Story

I had grown up in the church, sunday school, choir, private Christian School. Dad was a minister for awhile, you know the normal PK (preachers kid) I got in my fair share of trouble and stupidity, once I turned 18 I decided that I was WAY smarter than God and could handle my own life just fine, thank you very much... After about 17 years of thinking I was too "cool" for church and that was just for hypocrites, my mother decided that all she wanted for Mothers Day was for me to attend Church with her for that day. What a saving change that made in my life! I felt that the minister was directly talking to me and I was alone in the room having my questions answered, doubts squashed, and light shined in my life. Since then I would love to tell you that life has been nothing but roses and perfection, but I would be lying!!! The devil had me where he wanted me and seems to be a little miffed that I am doing my best to ignore him and only keep my eyes on Him. Sometimes I fail but I know that I am forgiven. I now have the perfect partner and we are on the walk together, helping each other. We even got baptized together, her for the first time and me for the second. Not that the first one did not count, I was 13 and knew what I was doing but I wanted to make a public proclamation that Jesus is my Savior and I owe Him everything and THAT I WAS BACK!!!!!!
