Cracked Head Every Valve Rapping Oil Leaking Every Time.
well chevy seems to be class of its own for off roading. i dont think the new chevy is worth even trying to use for off roading or even trying to put money into them to even try. the silverado for me is a great vehicle for on road work. like construction and towing. my dad and i both have silverados. for granted his is a 92 2wd but that thing has been through sarge and i for driving and also my dad using it for masonary work and side jobs all the time. my truck well i admit i beat the crap out of it. constantly pulling is maximum if not more than it is worth for salvage and trailering my jeep to rc and back pulling 80 up the hills. i got a 02 4wd 1/2 ton with the 5.3 liter. for a truck it get alright gas milage about 17 to 22 on highway not real good but better than some other trucks that are 1/2 ton. i trurly should have gotten the 3/4 ton or the HD package but i would prolly beat it even worse than i am know.
i got a buddy that loves the blazers for wheeling. easy to find parts and good for the length for what he does ( moab utah ) he said he wouldnt use anything else and thinks jeeps are crap and to normal to build. what does he know.
i think chevy has come a long way for what they used to be. nice interior easy ride good acceleration while towing and many options. but for the offroader that stuff dont mean anything. but easy to find parts. cheapest parts to usually find. cant go wrong with the 350 2 bolt main for a standard engine. it fits in anything. even the military used the old blazers and silverados for many years and should have kept them going.
things that chevy could do better well many things but they all got there problems. like a gm 10 bolt. CRAP. old detriot slow diesels. and everything leaks on them but that one way to put the dinosaurs back in the earth.
here i go rambling on again.
