Please read Matthew 23:9 (include verses 8 and 10 for context) and then tell me what is the correct title to give a Roman Catholic priest.

Well, I read it AND the following verse. I understand what you are asking...but at the same time, I seriously doubt we should rename the men in our lives that gave us life alonside our mothers, and then raised us.....or change the 'title' of the people that teach our children in schools.

I think maybe the calling a RC Catholic preist "Father" has more to do with the arrogance* of the early Catholic church......but I do not know. Maybe I'll research it tonight after work!

*not trying to start a fight. I can back up this statement with history.

My take on it is that these verses applied to the spostles, disciples, etc; but that it should also apply to todays church leaders (including the Pope--if I may be so bold as to say so).

There's no way one could glean from these three verses that we should not call our biological (or adoptive) male parent, "Father."
