Our exchange student asked me if Satan hates God and I realized I didn't have a good answer for her. My initial reaction was that he has to but I don't recall any scripture that would support that completely. I am looking for opinions but mostly scripture references that deal directly with this question. It is interesting... Share your thoughts.

I really don't know the answer to that....except that 2 ideas came to my head:

1. he wanted to be the same/equal to God...immitation in the most sincere form of flattery.

2. Satan must hate God because he knows what God has planned for him. He and his little
turkeys shiver at the sound of God's name.

So, yeah, I have no idea...but it IS something I'd like to find out! Thanks Tim!!!

i dont know the answer i would think he does. he doesnt like any of gods ways or he would act like god[he would be trying to act like god]
not to change the subject to much but do you think god hates satan? is he the one thing that we as christians do not have to show love to?

I don't think God hates satan...remember, he was God's most beautiful and favorite angel. I'd imagine God
feels sadness more than anything. But that will not get in the way of Him making sure satan ends up where
he belongs.

I also believe that he doesn't hate him even though satan attacks God's people...because God knows who is
in control....and satan shivers at it and tries to drag down as many people as possible, because he knows what
is coming for him.

Read Revelation 12, particularly from verse 7. This is one of the most understandable chapters of Revelation (if there is such a thing).
