Okay.....wasn't sure where to put this, and maybe the subject is 'shocking' and I'll upset someone...well, Jesus never cared much about whether He was shocking someone or not.......He just did what He did and the truth in His doings/sayings was evident, whether people liked it or not. I wish I could be more like Him every day.

There's no question that sex and everything to do with it is in the mainstream these days. You can't even find a commercial for chewing gum that doesn't have, at the very least, some sexual innuendo....let alone one commercial I saw that was blatant about it.

More people than you could imagine struggle with porn. It's not 'just a look' or 'I was bored'...some people let it rule their lives. They lose everything.....their jobs, their spouses, their dignity......losing respect for themselves and even for the opposite sex. And SO much more.

It hit close to home for me with my ex...someone I dated for almost a decade. His first marriage ended because of it. She warned me, maybe a bit too late. I won't go into detail. But I will tell you that I understand what it can do. I wasn't even completely innocent myself.

So I thought I'd post this because if porn is YOUR struggle, whether you are a member or a visitor, we want you to know you have someone to talk to, just a PM away. But sometimes REAL, deeper help is needed.....below are websites to visit that can help.

Great Post!! I will admit that when I was away from God (He was NEVER away from me) I watched my fair share. I was "that" guy at work that could always find something to show.... Luckly when I came back, God took that desire away from me. Not so easy for others, there is a person in my Bible Study that is struggling with this issue.

Also sometimes it doesn't get as bad as a full fledged addiction to porn but we fall way short of God's standard when it comes to oogling the girl in the office or even looking at ads in the paper or magazines too long. This is especially with men, our minds tend to run with even the simplest of memories.

Whether you have a severe addiction to porn or you tend to "check women out" it is short of God's standard for us. I found Every Man's Battle to be extremely helpful. Don't compromise the word of God, we have the power through Christ to change our minds for good. Paul tells us to take every thought captive for a reason. MORE THAN HALF THE BOOKS IN THE NEW TESTAMENT WARN US ABOUT IMPURITY AND SEXUAL IMMORALITY.

As men we tend to think "we are men that is how we are" well news flash gentleman, you also happen to be created in the image of God. This means we share some of his characteristics. Do you think he glances at every woman's body when he sees her? I don't think so!

Anyway, great book, with great advice and real men with real stories and situations. Also every chapter ends with a woman's perspective on the struggle men face (which is somewhat different than womens) anyway read the book. It makes more sense than my semi-rambly post.
