Anyone wanna help?

I"m planning on getting new shocks when I get my tax money back. (I'm now told that the Govn't won't start letting the money go til mid Feburary! )
Anyway... when I do get them, anyone want to lend me a garage/help to put them on? I've never done shocks before and someone with the know-how would be cool. Let me know... please. Figure by the end of Feburary, beginning of March.

You should have no problem with the shocks

Front one's have a nut on top and two nuts and bolts hold the bottom on
Rear one's two bolts on top and one bolt on bottom.

Wish we lived closer would lend a helping hand

Not a hard Job at all. soak the top bolts on the upper rear though with PB Blaster first though... If they break they can be a real pain. We had to drill Pattey's out

Thanks guys i think we can do this with no problem. then again there is always that unforseen issue, but i think we will be fine. so when ever your ready rob.

It is a very easy job . . . unless . . . Yes, yes they are a real pain if they break!! I had a rear top break – very hard to get to.

And another suggestion – REPLACE ALL OF THEM: front, rear, top, and bottom. I replaced them with something stupid, like grade 8 or such, so they’ll never break. I also drowned them in never seize, so they “shouldn’t” rust, and then used washers and split washers so they wouldn’t back out from all the never seize (plus I’m old school anal, and just think they should have washers anyway). It added about $15 or $20 to the job, but what’s that with the cost of shocks, and I figure I’m forced to buy car insurance; for the extra few bucks I now have knuckle insurance for next time.

My shop will be open for you, just let me know when. It's not that bad of a job.

Thanks everyone. This is why I love A/O!!! I am just waiting for my taxes to be released (supposedly mid-February). Then I will order them. I found a place in Arizona called Kolak Performance that has them for $289 - no tax, free shipping in the U.S.!! Much cheaper that 4WD or Quadretec!

Ya know if they are in AZ... you could always come out and pick them up, stop by my place and install them and then... we go test them!!!

Mike says he knows how to do it. Let us know a date and we can help! He just replaced the rear shocks in my Mazda.

I just ordered my shocks today so I should be getting them by next week. Anyone doing anything next Saturday?

As of now. Monday I am pulling the WJ in my shop to replace a cracked 4.0 head. I have been wondering were all the antifreeze was going. Pulled the dipstick and that answered my question. Mudslinger can he come over your house, I can still meet you all there. If you need tools please let me know...

Just got an e-mail from the company that I bought the shocks from. Apparently there was a glitch in their system and I won't be receiving them til the middle of next week. So if anyone is available next weekend....

next weekend may not work for us. However, March 2nd is the club meeting, we could always use the garage at my parents' house and work on it after the meeting or we could go up in the morning before the meeting.
