PostSubject: Dave's back!   Tue Jul 22, 2008 1:01 pm

Hi gang, I recongnize some folks from clubs of the past and it's good to see some new names as well. I ran into Chris and few others at the PA Jeeps Show on Sat. and I thought it was good to see a Christian wheeling club pop up closer to home.

I'm Dave DeChristopher and you rarely find me without my lovely wife Diane and Mark (4) and Jason (1.5) in tow. We live in Brownstown and have attended Akron Church of the Brethren for several years now. I work at CNH in New Holland where I do Design Analysis on Agricultural Equipment (also a desk jockey). Raising kids, keeping after the place and maintaning vehicles keeps us busy enough, but we manage to squeeze in some fourwheeling and the occasional vacation once in a while. In particular, we like to see the grandeur our Creator has blessed us with including road trips to Colorado, Yellowstone and recently the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

I also belong to PA Jeeps going on about 11 years now and have served as trail guide for them for several of those years before life got so full. I am currently the Land Use Officer. We have a moderately built '79 CJ-7 that has served me well for the 14 years I've owned it. 33" BFG M/T's, a little lift and some other do-dads. It's street legal and gets we to work when Diane needs the car. We also have been blessed with '98 Dodge 2500 CTD that is our "RV" and tow rig. We use the bed for family camping for all sorts of trips.

I am really fond of old iron which lead to a 7 year restification of a '60 Willys pick-up that is currently in storage (not enough seats). Even without power steering, it made it through "the good, the bad, and the ugly" at Paragon. I do all the work on our vehicles and enjoy tinkering with help from our boys.

I belong to a Jeeping family too (we're almost our own club):

My brother Mike has a built CJ-3a,
My brother Joe has a Cherokee and a CUCV military pick-up
My brother Steve is working on a Cummins powered Scrambler
My brother-in-law has a '51 CJ-3a, 79 CJ-7, 3 Scouts and a Cherokee

As much as would enjoy participating in all this forum has to offer, I only have internet at work, and in the past I have stolen way too much of my employers time on the web. So, I would look forward to meeting up with you guys on the trail someday. I'll pop in here from time to time, but I'm always just an email away.

God Bless ...... Dave
