PostSubject: need help with 87 wrangler   Wed Jun 09, 2010 8:34 pm

my husband bought an 87 jeep from a co-worker of mine I was driving it to work on 95 rush hour traffic when the drive shaft broken and tore the fuel line as well, the very nice and compassionate courtesy patrol man asked me to sit in his truck while waiting for the tow truck to come as he said that if someone had thrown a lit cigarette out I would have been blown to bits, also the tow truck driver told me I was lucky that the drive shaft didn't come through the floor and tear my heal off and it began to rain talk about a bad monday! Anyway my husband loves the jeep is there anyone who can help him make the repairs that are needed pls let me know i would love to be a surprise for him as a father day gift.

thanks,
Teresa prayers

welcome Teresa!!! I'm sure some of the guys here know their way around a Jeep.
Sometimes it's kinda quiet in here and there's a lot going on for some of us. I'm sorry
to hear about the driveshaft! How scary is that!?!? Chris' driveshaft has done the same.
Pain in the butt!

ow

You need a safety hoop for the shaft too?

Very Happy

It keeps it more under control if it breaks/pops out, etc.

I have no clue where that is, or even what state you're in.

laugh laugh Teresa, we're all spread out over several states. TJ's in Joisey. Chris and I are in Forest Hill. I believe he met your husband at his job the other day. Once the craziness around here settles down, maybe we could get all the local people together and meet up for dinner/lunch/ice cream....and maybe have someone take a look at your Jeep. thumbs up

Hi Lisa. My husband and I live in Abingdon so Welcome. So sorry to hear about your Jeep. We know of a couple of shops that we can recommend or as Pattey says maybe a wrenching party could be in the works!

I don't know what your plans are tonight, but my husband and I will be going to the Lowe's car show (the Lowe's in Abingdon across from Walmart and Target). We should be up there about 5:30 or so. Look for a big Silver Jeep and a short guy! We would love to meet you. A friend of ours who owns one of the smaller shops in the area will be there as well.

Hope to see you soon!

Hey folks. We can wrench on it here on weekend. Or if someone else wants to volunteer their house **cough TOM Cough *** I can tow it to where ever. Should not be that bad to fix. I recommend Perry Hall Power Equipment to fix the shaft. Ron is the best in the area. Fuel line is easy too. I am working every Sat till the end of July but we will be having a fire pit night soon and we could bring it over and look at what needs to be done.
