So, I plan to lift the JK in the VERY near future. Keeping in mind, this is my dd, but I still wanna get it dirty. Want to run 35's, nothing more than that, for now at least. I've been looking at 2 different companies, but they are very different kits.

1. Terraflex

The TeraFlex Elite LCG 3” Long Arm Kit for the JK Wrangler is the perfect solution for aggressive trail users looking for the most advanced long arm system available with a lift height that keeps the center of gravity as low as possible, while giving you virtually the same performance gains as the 4” or 6” systems.

The TeraFlex Elite LCG 3” Long Arm Kit is designed to fit up to 35” tires(aftermarket wheels with 4.5” backspacing or less is required). Fits both 2 door and 4 door JK Wranglers.

Note: Driveshaft modifications are recommended on all JK Wranglers & Unlimiteds with this suspension system.

Note; The 3” lift description refers to the minimum amount of lift on a Wrangler with 4 doors and all the options including a hard top. Allowance is also given to aftermarket items such as a winch and heavy duty bumpers. You may experience as much as 5 inches of front lift and 4 on the rear with a 2 door soft top X model Wrangler.

2. Rusty's Off Road

Rusty's 3.25 inch suspension kit is performance at a reasonable cost designed to add articulation to perform in the toughest conditions. Designed using 3-D computer modeling, this kit offers a factory style ride and handling. Rusty's 3.25" suspension kit gives the clearance needed for 35 inch tires. The Rusty's kit comes with our front and rear coils springs. The body is centered with our front and rear adjustable trac bars, no wimpy brackets that break and cause centering problems. A set of Rusty's Hydro shocks give a quality ride and an emphasis on off road performance.

KIT INCLUDES:
• Front Coil Springs
• Rear Coil Springs
• Front Adjustable Trac Bar
• Rear Adjustable Trac Bar
• Front Hydro Performance Shocks
• Rear Hydro Performance Shocks
• Quick Disconnects

Also, can someone explain to me the difference between a long arm, and a short arm kit? I know the log arm requires welding, and yields more flex, but, is that it?

both of those are good kits. you could go with a 2" budget boost that utilizes spacers in the spring buckets and longer bumpstops (retaining stock ride caracteristics), this makes room for 33" tires easily. i know you said you wanna go with 35", with some careful trimming you might be able to do it and have a lower center of gravity.

Dusting off an old thread since you mentioned lift.

What did you eventually settle on? Lift appears to be the first thing our JK is destined for since Mr. trillium has indicated in a not so subtle request by the bookmarks located in the quadratec catalog.

Trillium, since you guys are new to the sport I wasn't sure if you were aware that Quadratec is just up the road in West Chester, PA and they do have a Will Call desk so you can go up there and eyeball whatever you're after as long as they have stock there. I guess they drop ship some stuff, but I think they stock most things there. As far as the lift kit goes, I don't know anything about JKs so I can't really help. Try going to the Jeep forum (Google it) and poke around there for others' experiences. Lots of good info there.
