I'm thinking about permanently mounting my SuperFlow MV50 air compressor (haven't decided on the location yet), hard wiring it, routing it to a switch on the dashboard, and installing a chuck/pressure gauge combination. I know that I'll be able to fill my four tires before the little bugger overheats, but my question is this: If the tire chuck has a manually operated valve to let the air pass through and the valve is in the "off" position while switching from one tire to the next, will the pressure build-up in the line damage the compressor since it will be in continuous "run" mode? Is there some kind of relief valve on the compressor? Would you mount the compressor in the engine compartment or under the passenger seat?

i don't know about the compressor getting damaged by the valve being turned off or not. i would mount it under your seat, or anyplace that's not near high temps. i don't know if it would hold up for long riding under the hood.

I have seen them mounted under hood before. I would put it under the seat also. My guess and I mean GUESS is that it would back up pressure and possibly blow a seal somewhere if left running and the valve off. A blow off valve would be a good idea.

i was looking into the heavy duty one and getting rid of my arb compresser and just mounting it under my hood and putting the air tanks across my engine if i could mount them across the 2 bars the go from the firewall to the grill. then putting the air hose through a hole in the fender and just letting it hang there. i saw other jeepers do that. not sure if it would mount real well under the jeep seats because the fold forward. all that braketry might be in the way.
