 rubi air pump

i just got my rubi axle but not sure why there is a air pump for it. it looks like i can just hook up a power wire and a ground and it would be good to go. looks like the pump is in the way. any ideas.

It's a compressor for the locker, right? It's not bolted on to the axle is it? I think mine is tucked in somewhere over the transfer case skid. I have schematics for all of it if that would help. I'm working tomorrow, but should be home by 4 if you need me to crawl around under mine and check anything. Just PM or call 410-459-7423.

i gave it a good look over today when i came back from new jersey. i think ill just put the pump on the fender and run a new line down to the axle. but i do see why there is a pump know. i was stuck on stupid at that point i think. cloud9

guessing the wires comming out of it it to tell me if the front is engaged right?

If you mean the wires coming out of the rear then yes, there's some sort of proximity switcch in there to tell you it's engaged. Mine (stock Rubi) flashes when you flip the switch to tell it to lock, and then stops flashing and stays on once it's locked.
