We'd like to set up a saturday (preferably the saturday of a wheeling weekend) where we can put off
wheeling for a couple hours and have a
RECOVERY 101 CLASS. There are many people that may want
to learn how to use a high lift, tow rope w/shackles, winch, tree-saver, etc. How to position these things.
Even if it's a refresher for some or a no-brainer for others. I think it'd be a fun way for anyone that is
uncomfortable in their knowledge (me included) of some of these things. I couldn't work a winch if you
paid me!!!
Also, it'll be fun to get a couple of our guys stuck on purpose so we can rescue them!
I think it's imperative that we know these things and use that knowledge in a safe manner.
In the future, I'd like to have a SAFETY ON THE TRAILS/PROPER SPOTTING class. Not that I believe anyone
to be neglectful or unknowing....just because I know I, myself, am intimidated with the idea of spotting. I have
not really ever had a chance to. I know the basics, but I could learn more. Kinda like a refresher course!
I DO need 2-3 people to step up as EDUCATORS for these type of events. PM me or Chris if interested.
