I'm having rocker panel guards installed on my Jeep today. I'm worried that when finished there may be some gaps between the guards and my already greatly crumpled, crumple zones. I was told to put silicone sealer in the gaps. Is this a project we could add to the wrenching party on the 4th? Tell me what I need to buy (duh . . . Silicone Sealer) and where to get it.

I've got one full and one partial can of paint and a tube of black silicone sealant. I'm supposed to get my vehicle back Monday or Tuesday, so hopefully it'll be capable of the drive to Greencastle on Saturday the 4th. What time do you want to start, Joe? I'm coming from the Harrisburg area, but I'll be there as early as you want. Hey Jim, how is your schedule looking for that day? Pattey, Chris, and Bullfrog, if you want to join us for part of the day, you're more than welcome. Since Joe is spearheading this project, he'll be picking the starting, break, and end points; but it would probably help him to know who is coming (and what time) and who has to leave by what time. P.S. The YJ was washed the day after the last trail ride (washed 3/8/09) and hopefully it'll still be pretty clean. I tried to power wash under the fenders, but don't know how good a job I did. I should at least be able to push a broom if we get dirt in the garage!

We'll finalize plans Tuesday or Wednesday next week. I should get the WRangler back Monday or Tuesday and that'll give me a chance to verify that the vibrations are gone.

Well, I don't have the Jeep back yet, but it's been promised by Friday. If need be I'll pick it up on my way to Greencastle on Saturday morning. Joe and Jim, I'm at your mercy, so you tell me what time you want to get together. Is anybody else coming for sure? Joe, I think you already posted up your phone number. If not could both you and Jim give me your phone numbers so I can call you Friday night if the YJ isn't ready to make the trip to Greencastle? My home no. is (717) 939-6586 and my cell is (717) 979-0838. I'll be bringing 1 1/2 cans of paint for the fender and a tube of black silicone sealant for the rocker panel guards, if necessary. I'll also bring money to buy breakfast/lunch/dinner or whatever else is needed.

My YJ isn't finished with the mechanical work yet and I hate to keep anybody on hold, so I'm officially postponing the body repair work until a later, mutually agreeable date.

I've been told the lower portions of both front fenders, where the flares attach, are pretty rotted out, but it's not something that I have noticed. I'm still hoping to get by with just the original planned repairs, but I'm going to look for entire fender(s) in the mean time.

Well, I guess this wrenching party is officially cancelled. I found, and purchased a right front fender in the correct color (red) at the right price within 35 miles of home. It apparently had the same area damaged on it as mine; however, it's been patched up and primed -- just needs sanded. Hopefully Bullfrog will be able to install it for me. Thanks for everyone's willingness to help.
