So as the title says I would like to organize a ride (during one of the normal monthly rides) with Alpha/Omega where I would cart up a bunch of kids who could ride along with some of the members of the group. Our Youth program is a collection of christian and non-christian youth between 6-12 grades.

This wouldn't be something I would want to do until the spring but was just wondering a couple things. Would this be something Alpha/Omega would like to be involved with and would you require any extra paperwork that I would have the kids (parents) fill out to protect the club and its members from the possibility of a kid getting injured or something?

I think it would be a cool opportunity for them to get out and see my Xterra in action (they keep asking me if I actually off-road it since I got the lift). Interact with other adult believers and also have a ton of fun wheeling. I would probably want to do some sort of talk/lesson at the lunch break time which everyone would be welcomed to listen to or participate in as well. Those details can be figured out later obviously. Anyway what do you all think?

I could be game for this. Depending on what is needed, I can have as many as 3 open seats.

Yes, we have been discussing this same thing. There's a place in Maryland that Chris has been in contact with and the man that runs the show there thinks it's a great idea. We'd love to have your group too. We will definitely be planning the 2010 Spring/Summer schedule with these things in mind.

Thank you so much, and we will definitely solidify plans as it grows nearer. I also need to find out about release forms, liability waivers, if we need some sort of insurance or if these things would be sufficient.

I think we have enough people that show up for runs that would be able to help out and let these kids ride along. I can always get a hold of Bruce at RC as it grows closer to spring. I know there'd probably be some help from staff and 'regulars'.

yeah

I figured you guys would be game and it would be a fun opportunity to share Christ with others. Sometimes its good to get the kids to realize that more than just the leaders in the program we run care about them and love them and God.

I think my post may have been a little premature but I thought about it and got all excited so I needed to let it out. Lets update this thread with more info as the time gets closer.

Great idea Tim. I am sure we could come up with enough seats to make this happen

I'd be game for this as well. I too, could have as many as 3 seats available.
There was a thread on RC's forum a few months back where they did this with some inner city kids. From the posts afterwards, everyone had a good time.
