| i'm on a forum that deals with policy issues and opinions. i use darth maul as my avatar, because there are factions on that site who claim that my religious views, political leanings and personal beliefs are "evil", so hence an evil make believe character from a scien fiction movie. i never had any issues with the avatar, till recently. i have a guy claiming basically, that i'm not a good Christian (or not a Christian at all) because of the avatar. here it is should i try to find one of him smiling? is this guy just being too picky? am i wrong? _________________ I work to support my Jeep. | to picky. you always got someone out there thats isnt going to like something you say or what you got for a pic. that dont make you a nonchristian. if that was the case just think what Jesus went through back in the day when people saw a picture of him or expressed his feelings. |

| Well I have to tell ya that I don't think Darth Maul represents a great Christian picture. Jesus was was/is the giver of life. What would you think if you were them? _________________ |

| wait...is the guy who is offended by Darth Maul one of the people who thinks your beliefs are evil? if so, he needs to get a grip and understand the joke you were making. As for "representing"....well, Mike is right. You have no idea how bad I want to use my "333 - only HALF evil" avatar cuz I think it's funny. But it's not....really. We are supposed to have Jesus in and with us all the time and show that light to others. BUT...Darth Maul is a character in a movie. AT the time, he was my favorite character beause the man who played him is a great martial artist and I liked him and respected his talent. Darth Maul was the epitome of an evil character....but using his image (at least to me) doesn't mean you are being a bad Christian or even a hypocrite. Although, if I think about it, my favorite bad guy is Hannibal Lecter...and there must be SOMETHING to our "God conscience", because I just wouldn't have him as my avatar. I guess it's just what YOU feel is right. I would not think twice seeing your Darth Maul Avatar....but I KNOW you are a Christian and a good guy. My feeling for myself is ....no matter what mode we use to identify ourslves, be sure it shows you to be who you really are. And in our cases, as Christians, it should be just that. But on a personal note.....I still love Darth Maul!!!! I had a bobblehead of him at one point!!!! |

Oh...side note; Ray Park, the guy who is Darth Maul......is in the new GI Joe movie doing more martial arts!!! WOOT!!!! |

| He's been a recurring character on the TV show, HEROES. I don't watch it, but I'll have to maybe check it out. He's the best thing since Bruce Lee in my eyes. (yes, better than Jet Li...but not as funny as Jackie Chan!) |
