Is your school district showing President Obama's "address" to students on Tuesday at noon? If so, is this mandatory viewing? If so are you allowing your children to attend school on Tuesday? I urge all parents and grandparents to read the transcript of the president's speech when it becomes available on Monday before allowing impressionable minds to view it and the associated "projects" and "activities."

im not sure what to think about it. yeah its cool he want to tell kids to stay in school. kids know this already. as parents we preach it all the time to our children. when they turn 18 its up to them. i would rather see him trying to figure out other things like why this stimulis package didnt work and overseas and fuel prices. i know i sound mean but i didnt vote for him.

The economic policies of this administration have not worked because they really don't understand the economics of recession and recovery. A prime example is the administration's plan to stimulate the economy by promoting additional spending (e.g., lower withholding, cash-for-clunkers, etc.) which will eventually have an effect as long the public psychology believes things will get better. But then the administration announces that in order to promote retirement savings they a planning to give income tax refunds in the form of savings bonds. Doing that will decrease consumer spending, and anyone that thinks about the negative effect decreased spending will have on the recovery no longer will believe that the economy will get better. They simply undo on the one hand what they have done on the other.

Wanna know what the best stimulus package would be? That would help a great number of people? Find people who have been supporting this country. Those who pay their bills on time. Those who pay their taxes on time. Those who have mortgages and all that jazz. And buy down their interest rates on their home loans. Or you could have taken that billion dollar CEO bailout and bailed out over 90% of the homeowners. Blah... Stupid government. I think we need a new form of it. Or replace all the professional politicians with people who have real world skills. Replace them with people who know what it is like to work every day to make sure the bills are paid by the 1st. People in government need to learn the lesson of a hard day's work. [/rant off] _________________

Did you see that 47% (I believe that's the correct number) of citizens believe that people selected at random in the phone books accross the country could do a better job than the Congress of the United States.
